Pony Club at Roxbury Riding Club complements our lesson program by providing structured horsemanship education that reinforces correct riding, horse care, and responsibility both in and out of the saddle.
How Pony Club Works:
JOIN
Pony Club is available to riders ages 7 and up who are enrolled in the Roxbury Riding Club lesson program, with or without their own horse.
LEARN
Riders continue their regular mounted lessons while participating in monthly unmounted Pony Club meetings, focusing on horsemanship, safety, and comprehensive horse care.
PROGRESS
Riders work through Pony Club Certification levels (D-A), building riding skills and horse management knowledge progressively, with guidance from their instructor.
PARTICIPATE (OPTIONAL)
Riders may choose to participate in Pony Club rallies and team competitions, which emphasize preparation, correct horsemanship, and teamwork.

No. Horse ownership is not required. Roxbury offers suitable horses and ponies for Pony Club participation.
Pony Club meets once per month on a Saturday afternoon at Roxbury for unmounted education, and a few special offsite clinics per year.

* Tack & Equipment Knowledge
* Life Skills: Leadership, Organization & Teamwork
All instruction follows United States Pony Club curriculum and testing standards.
Pony Club offers unique team competitions that test both horsemanship knowledge and riding ability, emphasizing teamwork, preparation, and correct riding and horse care. These competitions are held locally.
Progress is tracked through Pony Club Certifications, which evaluate riding skills and horse management knowledge. Riders advance through the levels at their own pace with instructor guidance.
Total cost for 2026 is $345. This covers membership, regional dues, and the monthly unmounted meetings. Competitions and Ratings are optional and additional cost.
