Katie Emmermann
Owner & Head Trainer
Katie Emmermann grew up in Roxbury, Connecticut, where she began riding at the age of seven. She developed her foundation at North Forty Farm, where she taught riding lessons, started young horses, and competed extensively on the hunter/jumper circuit for over two decades, earning multiple year-end championships.
As a junior rider, Katie completed her Pony Club C-3 Eventing and HB Horse Management ratings at age fourteen and represented the Metropolitan Region at the United States Pony Club National Championships in Show Jumping on two occasions. Her early education emphasized correct horsemanship, rider responsibility, and strong fundamentals — principles that continue to shape her program today.
Katie has worked with respected professionals both nationally and internationally, including training racehorses in England and developing jumper horses in California. Her experience spans a wide range of disciplines and systems, contributing to a thoughtful, well-rounded training approach. She has also participated in clinics with leading professionals across the hunter, jumper, equitation, and eventing disciplines.
In addition to her training and competitive background, Katie served as Horse Master for the 2015 Special Olympics World Games, overseeing horse care, logistics, and rider safety in a high-level international environment.
As Owner and Head Trainer of Roxbury Riding Club, Katie applies this depth of experience to developing confident riders and well-prepared horses through structured lessons, full and partial training programs, and competition coaching at both local and rated shows.
